Brief Objectives of the School Building Project:
- Develop a Total of 6 Classrooms. 4 classrooms for 1 to 4 standard. One room for Head Master and staff and One library.
- Develop good quality infrastructure for the school. It will create a learning-friendly environment for the students.
- Development of Digital classrooms for better understanding of the students.
- Develop a library with the school. It will increase the vision of students.
- Develop Urinals and toilets for hygiene and health for students. Specially vital for girl-child safety.
Description of Existing Infrastructure available at the School:
Construction was 64 years old. Much maintenance work was not carried out in time to time because villagers are very poor. The roof of classrooms were damaged. Walls are also damaged badly. In rainy days it has become impossible to conduct the classes in this premises. Because all floor is leaking and classrooms get flooded. Because of damaged walls there is danger of conducting classes inside this premises. The urinals also got damaged. There are only four damaged rooms with no any other facility.
About Implementing Agency “Datta Seva Samitte” an Organization established in 1981 is committed for Social, Rural, Cultural, Environmental & Educational development in Maharashtra. Datta Seva Samiti (DSS) was established by Dr Rambhau Kalbande. Doctor saheb as a youth was exposed to the plight of the poor that is when he decided to dedicate his life and resources for the service of the poor.
Mr. Ramesh Bhanve joined him in his mission. DSS initiated its work with tree plantation and since then have diversified into several fields of development including watershed development, Conservation of Natural Resources, Agriculture, Environment, Women and Child Welfare, Health, Education and Skills Development. Vision: Sustainable Rural Development by providing Improved basic minimum required Resources and Empower the Society.
Mission: To Undertake projects and activities Leading to Improved natural resources, livelihoods, capacities and skills of the Rural Families . DSS is lead by Mr Ramesh Bhanwe (Secretary) who started this journey three decades ago has resulted in significant impact in the lives of thousands of rural community. Datta Seva Samiti (DSS) is a professionally managed NGO comprising of multidisciplinary teams with skills in natural resource development, Water resources development, agriculture improvement, entrepreneurial development, women empowerment, Sanitation, Training, Monitoring and evaluation.
Status:
Partial funds disbursed by Ashland to DSS; the old dilapidated building has been demolished and the construction of the new building has begun and is ongoing. The excavation for laying the fresh foundation has been done. The plinth has been constructed.
