Impact of Datta Seva Samiti

“Datta Seva Samiti” is an organization established in 1981. Datta Seva Samiti works in Maharashtra which is working for Social, Rural, Cultural, Environmental & Educational development.

Honourable Dr. Rambhau Ramchandra Kalbande, a simple “Safari” clad, 5 feet tall, humble and “patil” in the village name Khanapur is the one who initiated this thoughtful Datta Seva Samiti. He started his journey from the small village Khanapur, situated in Taluka Ner, District Yavatmal. As a child, he had been well-exposed to the plight of the village folk, the downtrodden and the underprivileged.

With the ability to be fully focused and passionate about social activities, Ramesh Bhanwe joined Datta Seva Samiti as a secretary. A simple living and high thinking is his mantra of life, and as he says “Giving back is something that comes from the heart.” Two like-minded people met and then there was no looking back. Ramesh Bhanwe’s vision was not limited.

He took every opportunity to serve the deprived communities. Gradually, Datta Seva Samiti propagated its service activities into the fields of watershed development, conservation of national resources, agriculture, environment, women and child welfare, health and more. His vision was far ahead of the time. There was a great receptive potentiality in his ways. Both tried everything in their power that they believed would help the development of rural communities.

They are kind-hearted human beings who added height to the eternal values in society. “Dhansingh Bhanwe Balgruha”, the home for orphan children, provides shelter and food to more than 100 children through its associated units. Through the three decades of tireless journey, they have the vision to carry forward and widen the scope of human service.

Now Datta Seva Samiti (DSS) is a professionally managed NGO committed to uplifting the environmental, social and economic status of rural people. DSS interdisciplinary team shall be equipped with innovative, entrepreneurial and empowered professionals continuously trying to accomplish global benchmarks.
